New generation fiber cutter the ComCut is based on the famous Compomec technology. The ComCut is designed for cutting fiber bundles and reducing scrap material in buffering lines. Cutter will catch and cut fiber bundle and accumulates desired amount for smooth deceleration for fiber payoffs. Accumulated length is then reversed back and respooled by active payoffs. Cutter can be installed on rails in order to be moved away from fiber line during the threading and operation without need of cutter.

Cutter can be triggered after it is positioned to fiber line. Cutting will be done after acceleration time, or it can be precisely timed by separate preparation- and cut commands. Commands can be triggered manually or by line control system, like in case of fiber break.
